EPISODE 3
David Willock had always believed that knowledge was power. But what he didn’t realize was that some knowledge doesn’t set you free… it locks you in.
The ancient book lay open on his desk, its pages whispering in a language that shouldn’t exist anymore. The symbols were not written—they felt etched into reality itself, as if the book was not made, but discovered from somewhere else.
David tried to close it.
He couldn’t.
His hands stopped responding to him.
The room around him began to feel wrong. Not dark… but unfamiliar. As if the walls had forgotten their shape. The air thickened, pressing against his chest like invisible weight.
Then the voice returned.
Not from outside.
From inside his mind.
“You were not meant to read further.”
David’s vision blurred. For a moment, he saw something behind the words on the page—an enormous structure, impossible in geometry, floating in a place without time. And he understood something that shattered his sanity:
The book was not telling history.
It was remembering the future.
A sharp sound cracked through the room—like glass breaking inside reality itself. The lights died instantly. Darkness didn’t fall… it arrived.
David tried to stand, but the floor beneath him felt distant, like gravity had shifted its loyalty.
On the final page, new words began forming on their own:
“READER IDENTIFIED.”
“CONTAINMENT INITIATED.”
His heartbeat rose.
This was no longer discovery.
This was selection.
And somewhere in the silence, something was approaching—not walking, not moving… but becoming closer with every thought he had about it.
